Demo Tape
New Fast Automatic Daffodils, Paula Greenwood, Playtime Records
9th December 1988

Thanks to New Fast Automatic Daffodils’ singer Andy Spearpoint for sending over copies of these early New FADS demos, I’ve had a blast this weekend listening to, and digitising these rare recordings from 1988.

DAFF 1 & DAFF 2 were recorded at the Kitchen in Hulme, Manchester and include remarkably good demo recordings of the bands first two singles Lions and Music is Shit (pt 1 & 2). Lifetime in the Sun, which eventually became Man without Qualities, is an altogether different arrangement and early live favorite Wake up Man has been picked by the band to appear on their Spring retrospective release of early recordings.

“I'd dearly love to hear these recordings. Are you able to share your digitised versions?”
