Ash Mountain
Ash Mountain are making waves on the British alt-country and new folk scenes and with the imminent release of their new 5 track vinyl EP on Manchester Spins Records, they are about to turn even more heads. The most recent members of the band are Annelie Miles whose soaring blues and country voice has been compared to that of Sandy Denny, and Ellie Gaynard, a classically trained and hugely experienced traditional fiddle player.

The band was formed in 2009 after Tim Scott, guitarist with 1990s Salford riot-punks Trigger-Happy, was given an acoustic guitar and began writing songs for the first time. Inspired by the likes of Cowboy Junkies, Mazzy Star, Gillian Welch and all things alt-country, Tim worked with a variety of great musicians such as Neil Dutton, Robert Bonhomme, Al Cook and Pete Martin and in 2011, with former Citizen Swing bassist, Paul O'Sullivan, the band released their first album 'Flux and Limbo' (featuring Zoe Lee on vocals), to great critical acclaim. With the recent addition of Slow Bongo Floyd drummer, Phil Wilks, the new line-up of Ash Mountain consists of:

Annelie Miles - lead and backing vocals

Tim Scott - guitars, percussion and backing vocals

Phil Wilks - drums and percussion

Paul O'Sullivan - bass guitar and backing vocals

Ellie Gaynard - violin

Vivienne Weller plays mandolin on the new EP
