The guitars were an Antoria solid as played by Hank Marvin before he got his Strat. Mine is a Gratioso Futurama made famous by Tony Sheridan when he made the Hamburg Album with the Beatles.
Our bass player had a Fenton-Weil .
We all played through Vox AC 30s, mine was a beige twin and cost about $100.
From left to right we have Al Yates who is still performing in Doncaster Clubs. The singer in the silver lame jacket is Roy Walker, he put a trio together with his sister and brother in law and did the Cruise ships under the name of “The Three Coins”. The drummer, Pete Thornton, went on to back Dave Berry and featured on many of his hit records.. Pete died about 10 years ago.,.
The suits were bought from a store in Doncaster called the American Fashion Centre and cost about $10 each.
Roy died this Christmas past. The bass player is Pete Jackson and he still plays with a variety of bands. He spent some time with Zoot Money and the BIG Roll band. My Gretch is a double Anniversary in coffee and cream and I believe is a 58.
The two guys behind us in the new photo are Colin “Fingers” Henry who is a great keyboard player who has backed many stars and the stand in drummer.
Colin features in the Guinness book of World Records for playing piano standing on his head. He won the UK talent show “Stars in their eyes” which was the forerunner of “Britain’s got talent” .
