As any 'Manchester-watchers' will know, the late 1980s and early 1990s was a great time to be in the city (and, as I keep telling my daughter, nobody ever called it 'Madchester'). The line-up at the Factory organised Festival of the 10th Summer almost read like a who's-who of the North West music scene: The Smiths, New Order, The Fall, OMD, Buzzcocks, amongst others.

Despite being the arts editor of The Mancunion, it suddenly dawned on me when I became aware of this archive that this is the only ticket stub I have kept from my time in Manchester.

“Thanks Abigail. Unfortunately, the pic doesn't show it, but that grey '10' logo in the middle is actually in a reflective silver colour – an expensive print job but then Factory were never known to skimp on that kind of thing!”
