“The International 2 was popular for reggeae revue nights.”
“Before it was the International 2 it was the Carousel Irish club. This remains reflected in the booking policy across the Int2 years - The Wolfetones seem to be on every week! I'd be suprised if the Gallagher Bros or at least their Dad, Tommy, didnt visit here in those years - didn't their dad do the rounds as an Irish DJ?

Local Irish DJ Alan Keegan's book "Irish Manchester" has some excellent old photos of the Irish scene venues including several which had other incarnations eg Osbourne Club/Thunderdome, the Ardri etc. Lots of photos of dances and showbands also.

It's important to note the impact of the 1st and 2nd generation Irish community on Manchester music - all 4 Smiths, The Gallaghers, the list goes on... Then you've got Peter Kay, Caroline Aherne, the Coogans...

Slainte!”
“All very true, Tony. However: MC Buzz B's Afro-Welsh......his daughter's called 'Seren' which means 'star' in Welsh. Cymru am byth!

I thought Polydor were bang out of order for the way they treated Sean.....I've never understood why they dropped him after an excellent 1st album....."Words Escape Me!" seems to be an ironically apt title now, cos that's exactly how a lot of people in Manchester felt when he was dropped.
A mention must also go to Carl Adesile who played an integral part in the making of the album.....he was very productive in the local Hip-Hop scene at the time, also closely involved with Salford's 'First Offence', producing all 3 of their 12" EP's.”
