A diary, describing the process that led to the creation of the Royal Northern College of Music, which opened in 1973. This diary was written in 1971, the year Ida Carroll stepped down as Principal of the Northern School of Music, but Carroll remained instrumental in the foundation of the College, even after she stepped down.
