Badge
Northern School Of Music (NSM)
1970

Badge owned by the late Kathleen Collins, student at the Northern School of Music. This green and gold enamel badge was worn by students, along with the compulsory NSM scarf (very handy for those winter lessons at Oxford Rd).

As far as we know this isn't an official crest for the school but may well be their registered logo. It appeared on their student magazines and other documentation as well.

The phrase in Latin loosely translates to "music conquers the world" or "music conquers all", a beautiful and ambitious sentiment.
