This is an image of a Jazz workshop being run by former Education Officer at the venue Richard Longden. The venue has hosted an education programme since the mid 1970's. This has included regular classes in Jazz Improvisation, Latin Percussion and Sound Engineering. Other strands of the education programme included Master Classes with world reknown musicians including Billy Cobham and Peter King as well as outreach projects with aspiring musicians and youth groups in deprived areas of Manchester. The venue will develop all these aspects and have an enhanced Education remit upon reopening.
