Michael Kannedy wasn't all that impressed with the Hallé's rendition of Elgar's "The Kingdom", except for the enthusiastic choir of the Northern School of Music. Conducted by Maurice Handford, with special mention to soloists Sheila Armstrong, Peter Walker, Pamela Bowden and William McAlpine.
