“Interesting that Mick Duffy suspected Slight Seconds of a duff review in City Fun. Not the case. I wasn't even aware of that until I just read it. One must assume he did like us until his paranoia took over.
Funny old article that had me chuckling.
As to what happened to Slight Seconds after the Manchester Collection album. Well..we continued gigging for a while and recorded one side of the Waiting Room album for Object.
We wilfully took our leave of the Collective because we felt, at the time, that it was leading nowhere. Without a manager gigs dried up but we kept rehearsing and writing up to mid 1980.
With Peter, the drummers, death we folded. I continued as 41 Degrees with one track on Do The Maru album for Object and an album's worth on Open Heart.”

“When this article was first published I remember being really annoyed by it. I wrote a reply which I never saw published. I think that 15 min of fame we had went to all our heads.
Although I quite liked the comment about Picture Chords existing on an alternative plane of obscurity. Not true of course we were just a bit shy.”
