A punk gig in Oldham. The Filthy Lookers were from Morecambe, we blagged them onto this bill. I liked them, except Lee who played bass....he sat around all night complaining that nobody would give him any speed. 'Give' him....not sell him, he didn't want to pay! I think 3CR also played this gig, with a certain Idle Al on bass making it up as he went along! I also did this for the Filthy Lookers once in Morecambe too. These sort gigs were almost always badly prepared, badly organised, badly played and badly drunk. Great fun!

i think this was the gig where some big guy decided to pick me up on his shoulders while we were playing...and then slipped in a pool of beer...the crowd broke my fall or it might have been a very short set.”
