New Order, The Smiths, The Fall
8th February 1986

A Liverpool City Council Benefit at the Royal Court Theatre. When Maggie rate capped Liverpool City Council this benefit was organised and called With Love from Manchester. New Order had to go on first as their stuff took so long to set up, then John Cooper Clarke, then The Fall then The Smiths. The Fall were the most impressive. Pete Burns of Dead or Alive turned up to watch the Smiths. As it seemed to be finishing the Redskins came on stage - a band who seemed more appropriate for this sort of thing
