Graham Gouldman
Strawberry Recording Studios
1969

An example of the bubble-gum pop single that helped Strawberry Studios develop in the late 1960s. Graham Gouldman was employed by the Kasenetz-Katz organisation to base himself in America and write songs from 9am to 5pm in an office-like environment. He also persuaded them to have a recording base in England (at Strawberry) and to use Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme as the musicians and producers on the tracks which were then released under a variety of names. In spite of their artisitic misgivings (Kevin Godley was quoted as saying that the wax must have cringed when the records were pressed), the work allowed those in Strawberry to start developing the Studio ready for the period of success from 1970 onwards.
