Artefact

Flyer
The Stone Roses
11th September 1986

Not exactly sure what this is, or the date ;I’m guessing ’86.Anyway it seems to be Stone Roses doing a gig with ex Bow Wow Wow members Chiefs of Relief ,as well as other stuff on the night, in London. I used to go darn sarf quite regularly, to Brixton, as a few ex pats from Manchester moved down there as the streets were apparently paved with gold ;never appealed to me much.2 or 3 days was my usual limit. It just seemed people stuck to their own ,and unlike Manchester where the clubs were much nearer to each other and you could go from one to the other quite easily, in London you just seemed to head to one venue and that was it, otherwise there was taxi fares involved etc. and it was less likely you’d just happen across peeps you’d know so I didn’t sense the same camaraderie .That’s capitol cities anywhere I suppose....

“This was a book launch for the photographer Dennis Morriss.
The book was a collection of Sex Pistols photographs.
Paul Cook (pistols drummer)was in The Chiefs of Relief.
We did play a couple of these Supports with Them in 1986.
