The only time I got to see Japan, on their last UK tour and not long before they split up.

It was a great experience and a little odd to realise that they attracted a little in the way of screaming girls fandom, not an audience I had thought of them appealing to.

I post this on the sad day that Mick Karn left us.

I first saw Japan in their 'Trashy Glam' days, supporting Blue Oyster Cult at The Free Trade Hall......loved 'em and followed them ever since....very underrated band imho....and in Mick Karn they had a true pioneer of his instrument.
