Artefact

Flyer
The Durutti Column
Factory Club (see also Russell Club)
1978

Final situationist flyer for Durrutis. I have linked this with the Factory, but in fact it does not publicise a specific event.
Nice illustration of TW's sense of humour.
It is a bit hard to read so here is the text.

AND SO

The commodity press got it all wrong again with that piece on Manchester's new band - the one with the Alberto's bass player. How can they call a five man band a four piece. Peace is a spectacle.

The hacks said they had no name. Someone told me they call themselves 'The Durruti Column', like being back in Strasburg.

Fuck that they're just a bunch of punks who swallowed too many liberty caps. Just more occasional labour in culture. Twists my head off.

What's that about 'up your nose' Wilson managing them. Is that right?

Naw - He just helps put up the posters. the man with the direction is Commendatore Bacibaci Beninobenone. a real tough shit
