Artefact

Flyer
The Hacienda
1985

Flyer for the barber saloon in the bowels of the club, so that meant you could be dancin’ away upstairs, pop down below for a buzzcut and be back on the dancefloor before anyone noticed you’d gone. I don’t recall ever seeing a barber’s pole outside the front of the venue though; pity...it would have looked quite fetching. They even had laminated cards as well with a picture of someone who wasn’t George Best (looks a bit like Charlie Manson...?) promoting their services. I think they moved to the Corn Exchange after this but I stuck to getting my hair cut at the Tib Street barbers as they were cheap as chips. Ah yes , a “short back and sides with plenty off the top “ and afterwards ,maybe a few slices of flitch cut on No. 5 from the butchers, so I could have a bacon butty when I got home; now that’s what I call living!
