“1978, Joy Division having played there the week before (their first gig as Joy division) in what was the first in a series of gigs for a Wednesday night at Pips, it was held in one of the rooms at the front of the building. We (Emergency) supplied the PA for most of them and I worked the front of house desk.”

Pips hosted weekday punk gigs by The Grout and Joy Division in 78.”

“Yes, he was a friend of Ralph's the bands vocalist, as you probably know he later became an associate of Peter Saville. Trevor also created a number of posters for Emergency & Foreign Press (notably the Electric Circus with Joy Division in support) and Foreign Press sleeves.”
