Thunderboys, Alan Adler, Chris Hall, Carmel Mccourt, Danny Daniels
1980

Limited edition outer sleeve of cult Manchester College of Art band The Thunderboys' one and only single. The band contained Carmel McCourt (centre) on vocals and artist Alan Adler (right) on drums who also produced the majority of TJM records artwork much of which is featured on this site. Adler left the band and deserted Manchester but McCourt remained faithful to the Mancs area despite Europe-wide success with her later outfit 'Carmel'.

“Having seen them own a stage like bosses I was expecting the same vibe when the first riffs of the single came on the radio but the Thunderboys were so much a live band, so better enjoyed on stage basically. Tight arrangements and probably one of the best female singers in Britain at that time.”
