“The Gang of Four’s audience are described as “lumpen proles and dilettantes”. Of the two, I probably am best qualified to be described as a “dilettante”. Both them and the Au Pairs were among my favourites ever at this point. NOTE that Andy Zero makes mention of other fanzines on sale that evening including ‘Printed Noises’, and ‘The Swamp Children’. The latter was a one-off mainly the work of Ann Quigley. The Swamp Children were also a band, and Ann was the singer; they mutated into Kalima.”
