David McMicken is a founding co-Director of Tracks Dance Company, Darwin, Australia, a position held since he formally cofounded the organisation in 1994. He has been professionally employed in community arts leadership roles, specialising in performing arts, for over 38 years. After graduating from a Bachelor of Education from Victoria College in 1980, his early career included positions in the performing arts as an educator and choreographer at organisations including Tasdance, The Victorian College of the Arts, Rusden State College, Melbourne University, National Theatre Drama School (1985–1991), St Martins Youth Arts Centre (1983–1996) along with engagements as a dancer and actor. David has worked with the community of Lajamanu on the production of Milpirri from its inception.
