Saturday 11:00
Juan Chao is a producer, DJ and MC from Uruguay. He dedicates his work for the preservation of indigenous music at risk of extinction. He created and directs the Archivo de Música Original organization for that purpose. He works in communities affected by paramilitarism, drug trafficking and the presence of multinational companies that extract natural resources. He specializes in the use of new technologies to develop projects including the creation of digital and physical spaces within the communities. He produces his tracks in those territories mixing samplers, synthesizers, techno, hip hop and tropical bass with indigenous traditional music.
