Financed by John Peel in 1973 who loved Rochdale and Heywood having worked in a cotton mill in Rochdale before becoming a dj- Tractor Sound Studios built by Chris Hewitt of Ozit Morpheus Records still exists as a studio structure bereft of equipment at 58 Market St Heywood- the blue plaque is on the shopfront of the building the studio is in the attic

Funny thing is; along with the local authorities in Bury and Rossendale, (Deeply Vale is roughly where all three boroughs meet), Rochdale MBC did everything they could to ban the Deeply Vale festivals! Now they erect a heritage plaque mentioning it!
