The group Spirogyra were formed at Canterbury University and included Martin Cockerham from Bolton and Barbara Gaskin, who had a number 1 single in the 1980's with Dave Stewart.

They released 3 LPs during their time together and these have been re-issued on 1 CD, released in 2005.

I saw this band in late 1972 (by then just a two-piece of Martin Cockerham and Barbara Gaskin), supporting Barclay James Harvest. What was I thinking about?

By the way, not to be confused with the American jazz-light band Spyro Gyra.
