Placemate 7

The clubbing section from the New Manchester Review May - June 1979

Offerings this month ranged from going out to enjoy a night with George (...and Mildred) Roper, The Dooleys, The Grumbleweeds and The New Seekers.

Dress restrictions at Park Hall in Chorley included bans on denim and suede and leather jackets, bet that stopped any trouble.

How about Del Shannon at Valentine's in Chorlton?!!

Funny to think how different the clubbing section of N.M.R.'s successor City Life would appear just ten years later to what was on offer here.

The legendary Abadi brothers recently opened Placemate 7 gets a mention, making reference to the venue's previous incarnation as The Twisted Wheel, sadly the building was demolished earlier this year (2013).
