First feature in the national music press on the Manchester punk scene, ironically in the Melody Maker. Mick Middles was going to write a column in Ghast Up 2 commenting on there having been 2 or 3 boring issues on the trot of Sounds and NME and over 100 boring issues of MM, which was hastily withdrawn when this came to light. In truth we had stopped buying MM and it was a guy called Bernard from Failsworth who told us about it, so I ended up scouring the shops the following week for a copy.

Currently included in the Defining Me exhibition at the Lowry, Salford.
