Hardrock Concert Theatre
27th February 1973

March 27th 1973, Slade (Suzi Quatro support) Hardrock, Stretford.

Double Art, last class of the day over at St. Pauls, Newall Green, the easels go up and we nip out, a couple of bus journeys later and we're outside the Hard Rock listening to Slade sound check the song that's just hit the No 1 spot on the day it was released 'Cum On Feel The Noize' a feat not achieved since The Beatles and 'Get Back'.

Inside, sticky floor and excitement as leather clad 'local lass' (the announcer tells us this girls from Chorlton) Suzi Quatro does her bit.
Slade come on, the place goes nuts and the memories drift in and out, I do remember the number 1 was played twice this night.

(some years later, the Danish Food Centre, I bump into my old art teacher, he tells me that he knew all about our early gig seeking departures, and informs me that he felt I was a talented artist, but he marked purposely failed me due to my escapades - er, thanks man)
