The Apollo
10th April 1979

My first ever visit to the Apollo - we lived in Sunderland and Kate Bush was actually playing at the Sunderland Empire but we had really good tickets for Thin Lizzy the same night so somehow we managed to convince our parents to let us go down to Manchester for the gig! Kate was obviously superb and we had great seats!

My Uncle and Auntie who lived in Wythenshawe picked us up after the gig and we stayed there and caught the coach back home in time for the Thin Lizzy gig the following night (they were also brilliant!)

It turned out to be a foretaste of things to come as we both went to Salford University and therefore saw lots more gigs at the Apollo - my brother still lives in the area to this day!
