I went to the first show, why I didn’t get tickets for both god knows. I now realise this was the tour that became the Lotus live album recorded a year later in Japan. Incredible night. The show opened with low lights, joss sticks burning and the bass player Doug Rauch’s incredible Afro silhouette... ‘from the mellow hills of San Francisco..... I’ve always said the music was like a snake weaving in and out, side to side... listen to Lotus you’ll know what I mean.
