Here's a relatively early incarnation of The Bamford Blues Band from late '83, caught in action at The Boar's Head in Stockport market place. Left to right; Paul Bamford, Ian "Joe" Slater, Lynne Bamford, Paul Baines, Chris Nelson and Duncan "Jim" Moore (struggling with leather jacket several sizes too small bought off the bass player).

Ian Slater Says –
1. It was a bargain, so don't look a gift bass player in the mouth.
2. This is Sp 20, not the BBB.

1. Actually, I think the jacket was the right size. It was me that was too big.

2. You're right, it is Special 20. The MEN press article dated April '86 says "about a year ago the Bamfords (...) formed their own band" so I'm guessing Special 20 lasted up to around mid '85.
