1984

Photo #1 of 3. A series of photos taken during a shoot for an album cover in 1984. The album (Manchester Rhythm and Blues) comprised a compilation of original tracks and covers by several local bands, and you can still obtain your own vinyl copy! (www.left-legged.com/products/LLP166293). We were trying to recreate the cover of the famous "Beano" album by John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton and that's the shot that went on the album cover. Sadly, I never got the negative for that particular photo back from the printers. I set the photos up and the bass player's brother (Richard) pushed the button. L - R; Ian "Joe" Slater (bass), Paul Bamford (guitar), Lynne Bamford (vocals) and Duncan "Jim" Moore (guitar). We used a pool of drummers at the time - Paul Baines did the honours on the recording but sadly was not photographed. Lenni (ex-Sad Cafe) also appeared on the recording as guest saxophonist. The inimitable Norman Beaker produced and sang backing vocals. Ta Norm.

“Yes, it was somewhere near the mill. I'm guessing it's all been bulldozed now and turned into some kind of shopping nightmare.”
