I saw the Beatles on their first big tour after Love Me Do and Please, Please Me became hits. I was only 12 at the time and my Mum came to the Apollo and waited outside for me. I was on my own as none of my friends parents would let them go. Loved my Mum for letting me go.

“wow, can you remember much of the show?

I was born the day before (19th) so my mum wouldn't let me go...”

“Yes I remember how excited I was. My seat was on Paul's side of the stage and I remember wishing I was on John's side as he was my favourite Beatle. The noise when they came on was tremendous and blew my mind, I'd never experienced anything like it before. It was hard to hear them for all the screaming but I do remember singing along to Please Please Me.”
