Band On The Wall
1937

The Band that actually were "the Band on the Wall".

This photo was taken when the landlord of The George and Dragon Hotel decided to put the musicians out of harms way and create more space. The band includes brothers Rudi & Albert Mancini (Rudi is on accordian, he went on to become a millionaire hotelier, his wife Pat Mancini still runs the Queens Hotel in Blackpool). Note the George & Dragon on the drum kit and above the pianist. The drummer plays the best kit I have ever seen, I assume that he made at least part of it himself as it has casters and unique curled symbol stands.
