The Twisted Wheel (Whitworth Street)
26th January 2001

The date of this was a significant anniversary of the Wheel opening or closing? I think it was 30 years since closing at The Whitworth St site. There was a big feature in the Evening News.

A nice night with lots of original regulars Out On The Floor. Not the busiest though, with the smell of damp more evident than the sweat and the talcum powder of yore.

There must be some incredible Northern Soul stuff out there that we need to get up on the site.

Keep The Faith!

This was the first all-nighter of Pete Roberts' revived Wheel set-up back then and it was great to have the whole club available to wander round!
Oh yes, and it was indeed to commemorate the original closure of the club on 30th Jan 1971, not just my 40th birthday...”
