Artefact

Photograph
Manchester Cathedral
29th October 2010

YANN TIERSEN at Manchester Cathedral. His set was miles away from the now-omnipresent piano miniatures "Comptine d'un autre été" and "Waltz D'Amelie", or even the Shannon Wright collaboration LP (probably my favourite of his) and was largely rock-based, with two drum sets.

Impossible for amateurs like myself to get a good shot, I think of this photo (about the only one where you can see his face, and that he's playing an instrument behind all the electronics) as being representative of the evening in a strange way.
