Artefact

Flyer
The Phoenix
22nd March 2006

Three US bands on this great lineup put together by KatieK.... flyer most likely by Tasha.

I'm afraid that I coined the rather crass description for Baltimore band WILDERNESS, which at least in some way explains their love/hate on-first-listen appeal (though once you're further into their three excellent records on Jagjaguwar it seems rather superficial).

(wait! There IS a Martin Hannett-produced U2 track - "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" which appears on Zero, A Martin Hannett Story (1977-1991) and various U2 bootlegs. But it sounds nothing like WILDERNESS....)

AMPERE and SINALOA were touring together around the time their split record on Ebullition came out; funny that "Ebullition" reference is used to describe the new(ish) London band too! Kent McClard-core takes over Manchester.
