So many great unsigned bands that continue to keep the city jumping.

“What did Synokym sound like? Ant memories of their gigs at the University?”

“Their sound was kind of a mix of the big northern bands from the 90's (oasis, stone roses, the verve, etc....)
They played the academy 2 (upstairs) and what I think was the club academy at the time in the basement bar of the uni a few times. I know they played a few other venues such as the roadhouse and dry bar. The thing I remember most from this gig was the last song they played. It built up from nothing to this crescendo that just grabbed your attention. It was the kind of song that made you pay attention wether you wanted to or not. The whole place was bouncing and between the stage lighting, the sound and the vibe in the room...it just stood out. A lightening in a bottle moment when everything just comes together and you can't help but get caught up in it all.”
