Master Tape
New Order
13th December 1986

This is a tape of their gig at the Tampa Bay Theater, Tampa Bay, Florida on 13/12/1986.

It's particularly interesting for the 15 minute finale of 'Confusion' during the encore. The encore occurred after a ten minute wait and consisted of 'The Perfect Kiss' followed by this 'interesting' version of 'Confusion'.

Effectively they played it twice, only very loosely keeping to the arrangement, and ad libbing throughout. ("Confusion is a word that's hard to spell....." etc).

During the second run through Steve moved back to his drum kit and took over from the drum machine and it continued into a jam session based in some way on the original track, with 'Confusion' samples thrown in over the top.

How many other bands are prepared to 'jam' in front of an audience!

They've done this several times over the years, in 1982 with 52nd Street at Kilburn, in Milan 1982, Auckland in 1985, Sydney in 1987, plus I suppose most of the Do The Ostrich renditions were jams really. Obviously they did it with Section 25 as Joy Division too.”

“There is a completely unlabelled tape that is 90% certain to be the Knight Center one, can't clarify the date exactly though. What gave it away was Bernard saying "it's very nice to be here in Florida, especially Miami" just before BLT. I have no pic of it so here's the setlist:
