STONE ROSES ‘So Young’ – ‘Tell Me’ Artwork for their debut 2-track 12" vinyl single in 1985, both produced by Martin Hannet. This was released in September 1985 and I met the band earlier that year in Zetland Road, Chorlton with their then manager Howard Jones (Ginger). The idea was to incorporate the ‘wreckage’ by ‘Johnny’ and produce a sleeve with a difference. I came up with this sort of violet metallic theme, but also a yellow and black branding for the ‘Thinline’ label. This was THIN001 and affectionately I referred to this sleeve as the ‘windowlene’ artwork – a bit camp at the time I think?
