The Boardwalk

A Boardwalk flyer from 1989, a great snapshot of that time.

This one shows a rare Street gig (in tiny letters as we were supporting King Of The Slums).

Also featured were the ever political Easterhouse doing a benefit gig.

“Wish I'd kept more of these Boardwalk and International flyers. It would be fascinating if any of the venues had comprehensive records which the archive could access??

As Madchester broke through, I remember The Farm had a sleeve showing a sheep in the kickers/flares/fishing hat gear - a friendly pop from our Scouse cousins! Was there not a Hillsborough benefit (or something) at the Hac when the Farm gigged with the Mondays?

I also seem to recall in the early days of the Boardwalk you got into the (nearby) Hac free/cheap with your Boardwalk ticket?”

“"I also seem to recall in the early days of the Boardwalk you got into the (nearby) Hac free/cheap with your Boardwalk ticket?"...I thought that, got talking to some of Del Amitri, invited them to the Hac only to find it shut!, my drunken offer of a visit to the Venue was politely refused.”
