Really exciting for a new label to be doing it's first, ever In The City showcase. Stephen Fretwell unfortunately never played this show as he was on a swift ascent to near-stardom, but the sadly forgotten and immensely talented The Beans and Nathan Burton remained involved, as did the brilliant Lisa Brown (later Delphic) and Rises, who were an overlooked band from Blackburn and eventually broke up because they had really good jobs. Twenty Twenty Vision and Garron Frith were, and we assume remain, two of the nicest people you could ever have met around Manchester's music scene. The venue, Tmesis, had some sort of nightmare with the plumbing or something, so this show actually moved to 42nd Street Nightclub.
