Suns Of Arqa

Heres the Suns of Arqa in action at Glastonbury on the Jazz Stage...I think the dates right it was the year Johnny Cash played. I saw the hippy looking fellow playing in Stockport in The Woodbank Street Band about 3 years ago. and they were really good he was playing a huge baritone harmonica (if thats what its called).Whatever happened to these bands?

“think I was at that (unless they play every year ,)
Mick Ward is the ringleader ,the band is always parapatetic (cant spell) .A blend of Jamaica meets India.
Could it be a bass harmonica ? My mate Paddys got one he uses it on some of the Homelife stuff. Its a recognisable sound from Pet Sounds as well, other than that you have to check out The Harmonicats and other such vaudaville.”
“They occasionally had a bloke called The Professer who played Bagpipes with them as well...I have the 12" they did with Stanley Unwin somewhere in my collection. They were pretty prolific with recordings..Were they from Ashton or was that a dream?”
