Was it really 27 years next month since I played in F104 at the Commercial in Stalybridge, does'nt time fly.
Johnny Harper is a comedian and singer from Mossley and is still doing the rounds. My mate used to play bass in his backing band and when I went to see them once Johnny followed a women in the toilets, put the mike under the cubicle and all the club could here what she was doing !!.He calmly walked out, got back on stage and carried on singing. When the woman came out of the toilets the whole club stood up and gave her a round of applause !!.

The Charlie Parkas? Did they not play regularly at the Seymour in Seymour Grove in the late 70's. I think Stalwart was in them. Also Armed Force rings a bell. I think 992's First Drummer Mazz was in them. I saw them at the Russell Club a couple of weeks before the first Biting Tongues gig,it gave me the confidence I needed in a "we can do a lot better than that" sort of way...as they were pretty dire....

No Mystery were from Stockport, Norman Beaker on guitar.
Cheaters were a Stockport band.
Achilles-if it's the same band-were a prog band from Warrington and friends with Jez Burtonshaw, who was briefly the soundman for Special 20.
