Artefact

Photograph
Iron Lung
1974

Me tapping away on drums whilst Howard Walmsley plays the soon to be discarded violin in favour of the much sexier saxophone, Landmark wandering around with his sax and Sbilts (off camera) played guitar. Methinks the photo was taken by '75 yards' on my camera.

“Great picture...we neeed more like this!”
“Watch this space Permafrost!”
“is that an iron lung tee shirt?”
“Aye, it is that, Mat. In the mid 70s you could buy these things that looked like wax crayons (maybe they were, thinking about it!), you drew your design on thick cartridge paper, making sure all lettering was backwards, and ironed it onto a NON-cotton material. It was partially successful at best but it seemed like whizzy technology at the time!”
