“ooooh what was this gig like?”
“It was alright. This was before the public knew that Freddie Mercury was gay and from what I remember the audience was predominately male, the few girls that were there were in the first few rows at the front and were thrown dozens of red roses at the end of the gig.I thought they were better though in 73' when I saw them supporting Mott The Hoople at the Opera House...........now that was a gig and a half !!.”
“Now then, it's great to find someone else who was at Queen's Opera House gig in 1973 supporting MTH. Forever etched in my memory that one. I also note that you were a big Hawkwind fan -me too. In fact I saw them many times at the FTH with one very memorable gig when Hawkwind headlined, supported by a male singer with guitar (name escapes me) and further supported by Genesis with Peter Gabriel in his many guises. I think the date must have been 73 or 74, perhaps you were there Arnie?”

“Margaret.........unfortunately I was'nt there, although I've seen the Hawks quite a few times all over the place, the only time I saw them in Manchester around that time was at the Apollo (7/10/78,support band The Softies) when they became Hawklords. The singer who's name escapes you was probably Al Matthews and Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias supported Hawkwind on their 1974 tour.”
