“I saw this Batcave tour at Rafters. In terms of a goth look, Specimen were very extreme for the time. The Batcave was Goth-central in London. Not sure if it was this gig or another when fellow goths Flesh for Lulu played Rafters. The NME next week said that the promoter had refused to pay them, so they had him stood on a chair with a noose round his neck, strung from a beam and threatened to kick the chair away! Not sure how that story ends!”
