Our manager at the time (Tim Llewellyn) ran Rabid Artistes Agency, he was negotiating a deal for a single, which we recorded with Martin Hannett at Strawberry Studios in Stockport (during the night, using Joy Divisions 'downtime' whilst they were recording 'Unknown pleasures') but then Bob Jefferson offered us a deal with his label 'Streets Ahead' based at his record shop in Altrincham. Bob was also the promoter for gigs at 'Bowdon Vale social club'. We went with Bob and released "The kids just wanna dance."
