I know Mark Standley ( V2 guitarist) was heavily influenced by the undertaker look of Dave Vanian from the Damned. He once showed me a copy of NME/MM or Sounds (cant remember which) from '77 with a pic of Vanian in heavy make up and Mark said "That picture... changed my life".”
