“My memory may let me down here, but I think this tour was booked before Blue Monday had properly kicked off and The State had over-sold the venue so New Order had to play a second gig the next night.

Support came from new Manc. band James who I recall as pretty average (I have undeveloped photos of them somewhere thanks to Supasnaps deciding not to print them for some reason - they're probably crap).

Due to the beauty of 'the bootleg', I now have this gig on CD to remind me of the technological horrors the band had to put up with on the night including the fact that they didn't (couldn't?) actually play Blue Monday and when the crowd started shoting requests Bernard said something like "you name it and we won't play it". Typically wry.

Despite the equipment malfunctions, I still really enjoyed the gig (and had a good spec to watch it from), despite my camera (on loan from my dad) focussing more on Gillian's keyboards than on her / Bernard / Hooky (we couldn't really see Steven from where we were stood).”
