Manchester Evening News and Chronicle Top of the Pops supplement May 30th 1964 page 9 - feature on Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders - the text reads "For Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders, whose latest disc is called 'Stop Look and Listen', recording began almost by chance. Manchester-born Wayne arrived at a city club for an audition, found only a bass guitarist there - and had to recruit a a lead guitarist and drummer from among onlookers. The line-up (front): Wayne Fontana aged 18 vocals: from left Bob Lang (18) bass guitar: Eric Stuart (sic) (19) lead guitar; Rick Rothwell (20) drums"
